ANA InterContinental Appi Kogen Resort has been selected as Japan’s first Michelin Key Hotel

On July 4, 2024, the Michelin Guide announced that ANA InterContinental Appi Kogen Resort has been selected as a 1 Michelin Key Hotel in the selection of Japan’s first Michelin Key Hotels.
It has been two years and four months since it opened as Tohoku’s first luxury resort, and it is the only one to be selected in the Tohoku region.
■ Selection of Michelin Key Hotels
From among the more than 6,000 hotels listed in the Michelin Guide, this is awarded to accommodations that meet five evaluation criteria and provide a particularly excellent experience, similar to the stars awarded to restaurants, receive this prestigious recognition. 6 Three-Michelin Key Hotels, 17 Two-Michelin Key Hotels, and 85 One-Michelin Key Hotels were selected from all over Japan.

Other luxurious facilities include a lounge where you can spend blissful time, a rooftop view terrace overlooking the mountains (open during the green season), a large hot spring bath with two types of baths, a rock bath and a cypress bath, a sauna, a dining and bar that offers the ultimate personalized gourmet experience, and a gym that is open 24 hours a day.
Among the extra services that have been particularly well-received by our guests are the “Afternoon Tea” and “Apero Time,” Created using seasonal local ingredients that have been served in the lounge since the hotel’s opening.
